1.
Will I receive anything at home from the State
Board before I take my exam?
- Yes, you should receive a letter of admission
confirming your exam date and time. If you
have not received this letter but already
have a pre-app date, notify your school
so that they may contact the board directly.
2.
Does my form of identification the day of the
exam need to have to same address as my paperwork?
- No. You may use any government-issued
ID as long as the name on the identification
is the same as your exam paperwork.
3.
Even though I've notified the post office, will
the Board forward my mail to my new address?
- No. The Board will not forward any mail.
You must also notify the Board of your change
of address.
4.
How long will it take to receive a test date?
- Unfortunately, there is not an official
time frame for receiving a test date and
the Board will not commit to a specific
period of time after they receive your application.
Therefore, be patient, and most importantly,
be prepared to take your exam as soon as you apply.
5.
Can I use a model that is licensed in another
state or has not practiced in California for
a long period of time.
- No. Your model cannot be licensed.
6.
Can I use someone else's model or the same model
again if I did not pass the exam the first time.
- Yes. You can use the same model only if
the person has not been used as a model
within the previous 30 days.
7.
Can a current student serve as a model?
8.
My model has a few blemishes, can I still use
him/her?
- Remember that you must check for conditions,
abrasions and diseases. If your model has
a condition, you may be able to work on
them provided you work around the condition
or show precautions when working. However,
you should not bring a model with any type
of contagious disease or disorder type which
may cause the examiner to question the condition
and your skills working around it.
9.
Will I be disqualified if I cut myself during
the exam?
- It depends on whether you can follow proper
first-aid procedures to treat the injury
and based on the discretion of the examiner.
10.
Will I get my exam results right away?
- Not always. Your final document (Proof
Of Training) needs to be processed by both
the Board and Experion prior to receiving
your test results. Therefore, you may receive
the results in the mail if your documents
have not been completely processed.
11.
Will I get my test score if I pass the exam?
- No. You will only receive your license.
However, you may request your test score
in writing within 30 days.
